I liked the look of this cheese board, I also liked that it was made in this country. Alas less than 2 weeks after delivery the maple board started to crack from both sides. The cracks were not surface cracks but right through the entire thickness of the board. I do have another cheeseboard, albeit a slightly smaller one, that I have used for 20 years without any cracks in the wood.I am still disappointed in the product but am pleased with the way amazon.com handled my complaint. I received a partial refund and kept the glass dome. A new board is being made locally. This creates a smaller carbon footprint than returning the entire cheese board including the dome. It also provides work for a local woodworker. And I feel comfortable with the partial refund I received and the speed with which the refund was forwarded to my account.
