As always the bottom of the piece features Ulrica Hydman-Vallien's own signature and the writhing serpent that has become her own special trademark. I purchased this cake plate as a gift. Kosta Boda makes really beautiful art glass and I liked the subtleness and the simplicity of the blue swirl within the clear glass. The 11" diameter is a good size for a typical 9" round cake. The person I gave it to thought it was beautiful as well as functional too.
